More About Me

My name is Josh Wohlforth. I am a licensed Maine Guide in both Fishing and Recreation as  well as a member of The Maine Professional Guides Association. My passion for fishing began at a young age, it was in the creeks and backwaters of New Jersey where my father taught me to appreciate the solitude and  patience of fishing. However, spending my summers in Maine the curiosity and intrigue of fly fishing really took hold. I taught myself flyfishing when i was 12, most knowledge I gained was from watching the "old guys" at the river and eaves dropping on conversations at the local fly shop. My quest for fish has taken me all over the country, I spend my winters honing my skills in the Rocky Mountains, fishing some of the great rivers of Utah and Colorado. Fishing with #24 midges can be fun out west but usually i'm dreaming of the days when I come back to Maine, my home, to tie on a big grey ghost and chase the Salmon.I have fished and explored the Moosehead Lake area of Maine since before I can remember. I am commited to give my clients the best and most professional outdoor experience possible
